Kristl Tomlin, MD, has joined the Generalist OB/GYN Division of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Palmetto Health-USC Medical Group. Tomlin joins Judy Burgis, MD, in providing gynecologic care to pediatric and adolescent patients at the 2 Richland Medical Park location. She has a special interest in gynecologic care of adolescents with special needs, as well as adolescent contraceptive management. In addition to her care of children and adolescents, Tomlin will see adult OB and GYN patients at the 2 Richland Medical Park and Hardscrabble Road locations. Tomlin completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency at the Phoenix Integrated Residency Program in Phoenix, Arizona, in 2016. She completed her fellowship training in pediatric and adolescent gynecology at Phoenix Children’s Hospital in Phoenix in 2017. When not working, Tomlin is a happy wife and busy mother to two beautiful little girls and loves baking with them and spending time outdoors. She also loves curling up with a good book and cooking for friends and family.
Kristen Nathe, MD, is a pediatric orthopedic surgeon with Palmetto Health-USC Orthopedic Center. Born and raised in Dayton, Ohio, Nathe earned her bachelor’s degree in engineering at the University of Kentucky. Prior to entering medical school, she worked as an engineer for Lexmark. Nathe earned her medical degree at Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine in Dayton, Ohio. Her residency in pediatric orthopedic surgery was completed at Palmetto Health and her fellowship training was completed at Cincinnati Children’s Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. Nathe’s interests include pediatric trauma and fractures, limb length inequality, deformity correction, hip dysplasia and neuromuscular conditions. When not working, she enjoys relaxing at the lake and spending time with her family.
Stephanie Gibson, MD, is a general pediatrician who joined the Pediatrix Medical Group at Palmetto Health Richland as a Newborn Nursery hospitalist. Gibson provides care for infants in both the Couplet Care and Special Care/Level 2 Nurseries at Palmetto Health Richland. Gibson is from Savannah, Georgia. She completed her undergraduate and medical school studies at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia, then moved to Columbia for her pediatric residency training at Palmetto Health and the USC School of Medicine. During her residency, Gibson organized a quality improvement initiative to foster resident education and comfort with counseling new mothers on the benefits of breastfeeding, in conjunction with Palmetto Health’s Baby Friendly designation. In her free time, Gibson enjoys yoga, kayaking/paddle boarding, and spending time with her husband, Kyle, and their two dogs, Merlin and Sam.
Marjorie Cloninger, PhD, is a licensed psychologist who recently joined Palmetto Health-USC Child Development and Behavioral Health. She earned her undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Kentucky. She earned her doctoral degree in school psychology and completed her pre-doctoral internship, as well as her post-doctoral training with the University of South Carolina. She is a state and nationally certified school psychologist. Cloninger has worked with children, families and educators in public and private schools, specialty clinics, residential facilities and summer programs. She also serves on national and local non-profit boards aimed at improving the care of children and supporting professional colleagues. Her research and clinical interests include neurodevelopmental disabilities, such as autism spectrum disorders, ADHD, intellectual disabilities and learning disabilities. In her spare time, Cloninger enjoys spending time with her husband and family, cooking, traveling, and watching college sports.
Weston Rice, NP, recently returned to Pediatric Neurology with the Palmetto Health-USC Medical Group. He completed his undergraduate degree at Presbyterian College in Clinton, South Carolina, an additional bachelor’s degree in nursing from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina and a Master of Science in Nursing, acute care nurse practitioner at the University of South Carolina. With a primary interest in neuroscience, Rice has worked in both pediatric neurology and neurosurgery. He enjoys traveling, kayaking and running with his wife in their spare time.
