Caring for autoimmune and autoinflammatory disorders

Our pediatric rheumatology team at Prisma Health Children's Hospital in Columbia treats children with joint pain due to inflammatory disorders and many other autoimmune and autoinflammatory conditions.

Our fellowship-trained, board-certified pediatric rheumatologist also assists in the care of children who are primarily monitored by other doctors to help with medication management for diseases affecting the skin, brain or eyes.

Conditions, symptoms and diagnoses we treat include:

  • Juvenile idiopathic arthritis
  • Reactive Arthritis
  • Arthritis associated with other diseases, such as psoriasis and inflammatory bowel disease
  • Systemic lupus erythematosus
  • Sjogren’s Syndrome
  • Scleroderma
  • Dermatomyositis
  • Vasculitis
  • Mixed connective tissue disease/undifferentiated
  • Connective tissue disease/overlap syndromes
  • Sarcoidosis
  • Behcet’s Syndrome
  • Chronic recurrent multifocal osteomyelitis
  • Periodic fever syndromes
  • Raynaud’s Syndrome
  • Chronic joint pain and/or swelling lasting six weeks or longer
