The Ronald McDonald House provides meals and accommodations for families of hospitalized children. Operated by Ronald McDonald House Charities of Columbia, the Ronald McDonald house is a home-away-from-home with all the comforts and amenities of home, so guest families can focus on the health of their child.
This brand new facility is within walking distance of Prisma Health Children’s Hospital–Midlands and welcomes families with four spacious living rooms, 16 bedrooms with private baths, a large kitchen and even an adorable Labradoodle dog, Alphie, the Ambassador of Fun.

How does a family stay at the Ronald McDonald House?
The patient must be 21 or younger and receiving treatment at any medical facility in the surrounding area. This includes both inpatient and outpatient services.
How does a guest family get a room at the Ronald McDonald House?
The medical staff must complete the referral form and submit it. Your case manager or social worker may call to assist with arrangements.
Is there a cost to stay at the Ronald McDonald House?
Yes. We ask, but never require a $15 per night donation. However, no family is ever turned away due to the inability to pay.
Who is eligible to stay at the Ronald McDonald House?
The Ronald McDonald House is available for immediate family or guardians of the patient. Siblings are welcome. However, the Ronald McDonald House does not provide child care.
What will a guest need to bring to the Ronald McDonald House for their stay?
Personal belongings only. All guest rooms are completely furnished.
Does Ronald McDonald House provide meals to guest families?
Yes. Breakfast and lunch are offered so guests may help themselves. A home-cooked dinner is provided each night at 6:30 p.m.
Does Ronald McDonald House offer laundry facilities?
Yes. There is a laundry room on-site for guest families to use between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m.
