Our mission is to provide neonatal and pediatric stabilization and critical care transport services to the Central Midlands of South Carolina in a timely and efficient manner. To provide these services with additional attention to issues of family support, physician follow-up information and prehospital stabilization, providing education for referring hospital personnel in order to provide quality patient/family care within an atmosphere of partnership between pediatric and perinatal health care facilities.
If your child was brought to Prisma Health Children’s Hospital–Midlands by the Transport Team, he or she was probably brought in our special ambulance. Our team consist of a specially trained registered nurse and a specially trained respiratory therapist.
The Transport Team members are trained in newborn and pediatric intensive care, transport medicine and flight physiology. The team members are certified in:
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- Health Care Provider BLS
The Transport Team is able to provide the highest level of quality intensive care to the critically ill or injured children we transport due to our specialized training and equipment.
