Committed to providing extraordinary care.
The Prisma Health Children’s Hospital–Midlands Surgery Center provides more than 5,000 surgeries per year for pediatric patients, including minimally invasive robotic surgery.
Whether you are a parent or a patient, you are very important to us. We want your child’s stay at our hospital to reflect our commitment to providing the highest level of care. Consequently, our staff will work with you in any way possible to ensure your child’s comfort and dignity during the surgery experience. Your questions and/or concerns are always welcome.
Your child’s care team includes your surgeon, outpatient surgery nurse, operating room nurse, anesthesiologist, certified registered nurse anesthetist, surgical nurse navigator, and a child life specialist. We have a team of many resources that will be able to guide you and your child through your stay.
Children’s Hospital Admission Tours (CHAT) are provided prior to the day of surgery for children and their families who will be having a procedure performed at the Children’s Hospital. A tour can help your child by allowing him or her to experience the sights and sounds of the hospital, as well as preview what he/she may experience the day of surgery. We also show your child a typical hospital room at the Children’s Hospital, should he or she be admitted. A certified Child Life Specialist provides a medical play session and tour for the family.
Tours are by appointment only. For more information or to schedule a tour, please contact our Child Life department at 803-434-2151 or 803-296-KIDS.
